Are there supposed to be hippos here? At first, there is nothing to see, but if you look closely, you can spot small ears and nostrils peeking out of the water.

The hippopotamus dozes there to cool down from the intense African sun. These grey giants prefer spending their time in the water, where they move almost weightlessly despite their massive bodies. They typically only come ashore at night to graze on meadows, trudging along on short legs.

However, they should not be underestimated. A hippopotamus can pick up significant speed on land once it gets moving. Watch out!
